China's New Regulations on Digital Humans and Online Safety

In a move to regulate the burgeoning field of digital humans, China's Cyberspace Administration has released draft regulations aimed at ensuring these virtual entities are clearly labeled and do not mislead or harm children. The proposed rules, open for public comment until May 6, mandate that all digital human content be prominently marked and prohibit virtual intimate relationships for minors. Service providers are urged to avoid content that is sexually suggestive, violent, or discriminatory, and to offer professional help when users show signs of self-harm.
