Google Vids Enhances AI Capabilities with Veo and Lyria Models

Google is advancing its Vids editing tool with a significant AI upgrade, incorporating the Veo 3.1 and Lyria models. This update allows users to create videos with controllable avatars and share them easily on YouTube. Veo 3.1, initially launched in Gemini, enhances video realism and consistency, making it suitable for animated party flyers, business reels, or video greeting cards. While Vids is free, generating more than a few videos requires an AI subscription, with different tiers offering varying numbers of video generations per month.

In addition to video, Google has integrated its Lyria music creation models into Vids. Users can now generate music tracks by simply specifying the desired vibe, without needing to input lyrics. These tracks, although not high art, are perfect for casual projects like animated birthday cards. AI subscribers benefit from higher limits on both video and music generation, with the AI Ultra plan offering the most extensive access.
